A new book for Christmas titled
“Spur of the moment” – by Marcia  Lee Laycock

After reading the first Chapter titled: SEARCHING FOR SOMETHING THAT FITS –
John 15:9 – I decided to write down my thoughts and what I discovered searching the Scriptures:

John 15:9
As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love.” (NKJV)
[Jesus speaking]

John 15:10
[Jesus continues] “If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.” (NKJV)

2 Peter 1:19
Because of that experience [hearing God’s voice from heaven], we have even greater confidence in the message proclaimed by the prophets. You must pay close attention to what they wrote, for their words are like a lamp shining in a dark place—until the Day dawns, and Christ the Morning Star shines in your hearts.” (NLT)

Joshua 22:5b
…Love the Lord your God, walk in all His ways, obey His commands, hold firmly to Him, and serve Him with all your heart and all your soul.” (NLT)

Proverbs 4:23
Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” (NLT)

Luke 21:36
Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things [carousing, drunkenness, worries of this life] that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.” (NKJV)

Mark 13:35a
Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming—…” (NKJV)

1 Corinthians 16:13
Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.” (NKJV)

Luke 12:15
Then He said: ‘Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by how much you own.” (NLT)

Most of my life I was searching for something I didn’t even know I was looking for. I thought I knew God but then sinned against Him big time, knowing fair well in my conscience that I was doing something wrong. BUT everybody around me seemed to be doing it, so I was still a good person, or did I just think that to calm my conscience? “Everybody is doing it” is definitely the greatest excuse used over and over again throughout history!

I am so glad that we have a merciful and patient God who loves me so much that He even sent His Son to pay the penalty and die for my wrong doings. When I realized that, and repented of my sins, I received Christ into my heart where He will be forever! Born again!

Now I can see how cunning Satan is! Don’t be blinded by him!

God’s word states over and over again:

WATCH OUT—DO NOT BE DECEIVED—BE CAREFUL

BEWARE OF and WATCH OUT FOR:
greed; your enemy the devil; unworthy behavior; temptations to sin; your heart being dulled to carousing, drunkenness, and big worries of this life; false prophets; being deceived; your tongue and what you say; betrayal; revenge = forgive; teaching of false doctrine; being proud; drifting away; enjoying the passing pleasures of sin; making an idol; jealousy; ignoring God’s instructions; the coming of the Lord.

WATCH OUT—DO NOT BE DECEIVED—BE CAREFUL—because the time is near!

Do you know what you were or are searching for?
Do you watch out and are aware of the enemy?
Is there anything you know you have to watch out for and beware of specifically?

Lets support and encourage each other in the Lord!
