Digging Deep into the Revelation of Jesus Christ
A Study Guide – Second Edition
Thursday, we received several boxes with the newly printed SECOND EDITION of the Study Guide. We are excited about this updated version but are disappointed that Amazon.com, even though they updated their website to show the Second Edition, is still delivering the old version! Friends of ours had ordered through Amazon.com. It’s very unfortunate.

At this point we would like to share one review which describes the Study Guide from the perspective of a brother in Christ:

“In my own Bible studies, I found this book to be an immense time saver. Through the format and contents, I am able to find comprehensive information in a few minutes versus spending an hour looking up cross-references to find meaning in challenging text. In short, this valuable guide for the book of Revelation is as a decoder ring in a box of cereal. The ring does not interpret, rather provides a reader the ability to gain insights quickly.

As the only apocalyptic document in the New Testament the book of Revelation to John is literally meant to be unveiling, but for most of us it is confusing. How many times do you read your Study Bible, then look at the notes in the center section, then commentary at the footnotes, then leaf back to another reference, etc. etc.? In the end, you are so off track, you forgot what it was you were originally looking for. In Digging Deep, Mike Copple has solved this problem for the Book of Revelation. It is not in itself a commentary or study guide, rather is a well thought out compilation of Biblical texts and commentary from reliable sources which are completely cross-referenced on the same page. The scripture is taken from the New King James Version of the Bible, with commentary from The Believer’s Bible Commentary, The King James Study Bible, and numerous other well known and respected authors.

The 8.5 x 11 inch format is useful without having the bulk of several Bibles and commentaries. At 3/8 inch thick, Digging Deep contains on each page the original scripture, the commentary on that scripture, the actual Bible verses referenced in the commentary, and the commentary on these references. For someone studying Revelation, this one reference saves time and enhances understanding without making the mistake of translating scripture. This enables the reader to make his/her own conclusions about the meaning in the Word as inspired by God. In a future Bible study on Revelation, I can see myself cutting off the spine of this book, punching three holes on the left side, and putting these pages into a three ring binder to serve as the reference alongside my written log of notes, thoughts and prayers.

As a final thought, I found the description of Digging Deep on-line a bit perplexing for two reasons. I had not used a reference that provides 4 levels of interrelated commentary with the original scripture … so this was more like a study reference on steroids. Secondly, Mike Copple in his humility offers no personal insights into the scripture references. He relies on God to do the talking.”

EXAM BOOKLET to the Study Guide
Now available! The Exam Booklet is a great tool alongside the Study Guide. It’s divided into several exams covering 3 chapters at a time. Plus there is a final exam on the whole Book of Revelation. The answers and Scripture references can be found in the back of the Exam Booklet. It’s a great way to test your knowledge and understanding of the Book of Revelation.

Considering Wisdom
The manuscript of Considering Wisdom is in editing right now. We hope for it to be ready to go to print by end June or July.
What is it about?
Considering Wisdom brings to light the many facets of indoctrination and compares false doctrine to sound doctrine. It is written with the aspiration that the contents maintain a tone of respect and gentleness which permit all readers from every background to hear the message it renders. The author admits to being indoctrinated, but discerns he is indoctrinated with sound doctrine rather than false doctrine. Of course, everyone has free will to believe that their own schooling is what really is true. However, many points are made in an attempt to prove there is only one absolute truth when wisdom is seriously and honestly regarded. The writer acknowledges that he cannot force any change onto anyone, but the Source used for explanations can certainly get a person’s attention if one is willing to listen.

What is keeping us busy right now?
Mike is writing another book which will go along with Considering Wisdom titled: Developing Discernment.
Elfriede and our graphic designer, Dorota, are preparing the manuscript, cover design and interior illustrations of our latest project titled “Vastness of Pace” for the publisher. This book will be a hilariously funny story with a sincere red line.

That’s it for this week. Stay tuned for more and have a great weekend!

Author: Mike and Elfriede

For the past 15 years Michael Copple has studiously devoted his life to the Lord by preaching the Gospel and moderating Bible studies. He is a 1958 Eagle Scout, holds a B.S. degree in electrical engineering, and achieved the highest US Air Force enlisted rank of Chief Master Sergeant with over 26 years service, one year of which was with Forward Air Control duties in Vietnam. For three years he was the senior enlisted member of the US Air Force Academy Wings of Blue Parachute Team; he has performed over 2,000 parachute jumps and accumulated over 15 hours of freefall. During his parachuting years Mike experienced a mishap of being a “hung jumper” outside the aircraft, and serious parachute malfunctions like a deadly seesaw night jump entanglement with another jumper, and an 85 mph wind shear which almost took his life. This experience inspired and qualified him to author the novel Calling from the Sky. A former world-wide electronic service engineer for 16 years with a semiconductor equipment manufacturer, he and his wife Elfriede currently live in the Canadian Rockies surrounded by 6 National Parks. Besides studying God's Word, they both like to exercise, cross country ski, hike, garden, and walk their dog Kansas. Visit him at https://www.michaelcopple.com/

    1. Yes, Calling from the Sky is available as ebook.
Digging Deep Study Guide and Exam Booklet are available too but we recommend the regular book because the study goes across both pages, and I don’t know if you can see both -the left and right page- at the same time on your e-reader. If you would like to try it, email me through our website contact and I will send you Bookstub for a free download of the Study Guide.
