The White Horse, the Red Horse, the Riders and Their Power

The Book of Revelation mentions 4 different colored horses – white, red, black and pale.

Today we will be looking at the white and red horses, their riders and their power.

Who sits on the White Horse and with what kind of Power?

There are actually two white horses.

First of all let’s talk about the One who will be sitting on the white horse at His Second Coming to end the Great Tribulation and begin His Millennial reign. John the apostle prophecies about what he envisioned:

Revelation 19:11
Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.

The other white horse comes seven years earlier to begin the Tribulation Period:

Revelation 6:2
And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.

The one who will sit on this white horse is the Antichrist man—the false messiah.

Daniel speaks of the Antichrist as the second little horn, Antiochus IV, being the first, typifying the Antichrist (Daniel 8:9-12, 23-25).

The white horse represents peace.

The seven year Tribulation Period begins when the Antichrist signs a peace treaty with Israel to bring about world peace. However the peace will only be temporary. The Antichrist’s power is only the manipulation of deception. However, he and the false prophet will receive power from Satan to perform signs and wonders to bolster their deceptions.

2 Thessalonians 2:9b
The coming of the lawless one [the Antichrist] is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying [false] wonders.

Now, what about the Red Horse, the Rider and his kind of Power.

Again, the Antichrist is the one who will also sit on the red horse.
The color red represents lack of peace.

Revelation 6:4
Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword.

The sword is for conflict and takes peace from the earth.

Our Lord God is quoted:

Ezekiel 39:23
“The Gentiles shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity; because they were unfaithful to Me, therefore I hid My face from them. I gave them into the hand of their enemies, and they all fell by the sword.”

Daniel 11:33
“And those of the people who understand shall instruct many; yet for many days they shall fall by sword and flame, by captivity and plundering.”

The third person of the false trinity made up of Satan, the Antichrist, and the false prophet, will also have power from Satan to perform miracles:

Revelation 13:13-14
13He [the false prophet] performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. 14And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast [the man, Antichrist], telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived.

Early in his reign, the Antichrist will be sitting on his high horse. But his end is coming.

Next week we will be looking at the Black and Pale Horses.
