Excerpt from Chapter 7 of Considering Wisdom
Posted by Elfriede
With voting around the corner, I thought that I would post another excerpt from Mike’s book “Considering Wisdom” with regard to the chapter on “Wisdom in Voting”. So here it is:
Considering Wisdom, pg 108, para. 4:
The USSR spent fifty years in the Cold War, attempting to globalize their system of communism, or socialism. The globe, if socialistic communism was colored red on a map, was progressing toward being all red. As a result, many people died, and thousands were Americans who fought to maintain our freedom of free enterprise, speech, press, religion, and the right to protect ourselves. One political candidate who promotes socialism has been called by the founder of Home Depot, “the enemy of all entrepreneurs” (https://www.foxbusines.com/business-leaders/home-depot-cofounder-bernie-sanders-is-the-enemy-of-every-entrepreneur). We have been witnessing an attempt to have history repeat itself. We learn from history that we do not learn from history.
Considering Wisdom, pg 109, para. 1-3
Considering wisdom, it seems quite a gamble for humanity to attempt to repeat the socialist histories of North Korea, China, Venezuela, Hitler’s Germany, and Stalin’s Soviet Union. To maintain our God-given freedoms and rights, the vote requires judgment, discernment, and reasoning.
In relation to globalization, instead of nationalization, what wisdom does God’s Word provide for us? The last Book of the Bible points out that in the end-times, during the Tribulation period, there will be a “one world government.” John the apostle writes what he saw concerning one world headship in the vision of his prophecy:
He [the false prophet] causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast [the Antichrist one world leader], or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast [the Antichrist], for it is the number of a man: His number is 666. (Revelation 13:16–18)
Considering Wisdom, pg 110, para. 3-5; pg 111, para 1-5:
The goal of Communism during the Cold War was to make the entire world socialist.
Paul the apostle writes in agreement with John the apostle:
Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshipped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. (2 Thessalonians 2:3–4)
The “man of sin” and “the son of perdition” is the Antichrist man.
The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. (2 Thessalonians 2:9–10)
Yes, it is wise for politicians and voters to consider wisdom before making decisions or casting a ballot. Ask the question, “What does our God and Creator think of how I am voting?” God is in control. It is wise to listen to Him and not to rebel against Him. In terms of timing of prophesies being fulfilled, literally hundreds have been fulfilled to this point in time. The next prophesy to be fulfilled is the Rapture of believers to save them from suffering in the Tribulation and to continue their recently obtained eternal life. And next the revealing of the Antichrist man to rule over the ones who rejected Christ will be fulfilled. The prophesies that have been written and are to be fulfilled following the Rapture include the eternal suffering of those who choose to reject our God and Savior.
Quoting Harold Summers at a Morning Star Bible Camp men’s conference:
“Prophesies…
[long pause as Harold scans the listeners looking each one in the eye]
… will be… fulfilled.”
To make a wise choice, one must keep abreast of current events. With today’s technology, different news outlets can be found on the internet, and it doesn’t take much time to look at both sides of the division between liberals and conservatives. Weigh and decide. Use discernment. Know the stances on policies, be aware of current events, and stay current in the Bible. Know what would grieve the Spirit of God and what would be pleasing to Him.
Government policies can tremendously impact our own and our children’s lives. We the people can help steer the nation in the right direction by making sound decisions when we cast our vote. To do so, we should have knowledge of history, current events, and the agenda of the people running for office. The safety and eternal future of our children and grandchildren is at stake.
