The title of the last Book in the Holy Bible is The Revelation of Jesus Christ. The Book consisting of 22 chapters, reveals that the Lord Jesus Christ is Almighty Jehovah God, spiritually equal to the Father and the Holy Spirit. Authoritatively, Christ the Son obeys every command of the Father, and the Spirit obeys both the Father and the Son. But, as for the Church and for the coming Millennial kingdom on earth, the Father gives to His Son the throne and authority to judge and reign.
The first chapter of the Book tells us to whom it is written, and from Whom it comes:
[From] 4John, to the seven churches which are in Asia [representative of all local churches today]: Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, 5and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead [the first one resurrected from the dead to remain alive forever], and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, 6and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
The Book of Revelation reveals that the Lord Jesus Christ is Almighty Jehovah God in the following verses:
“I am the Alpha and the Omega [first and last letters of the Greek alphabet], the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
The following verse strongly points to the three Persons of God all being the Triune Almighty God, of Whom the Lord Jesus is within:
“Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!”
“We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, the One who is and who was and who is to come, because You have taken Your great power and reigned.”
They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: “Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints [believers of nations]!”
And I [John] heard another from the altar saying, “Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments.”
14For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. 15“Behold, I [the Lord Jesus] am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments [spiritual preparedness], lest he walk naked and they see his shame.”
Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations [because of their wickedness and offenses]. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress [squeezing out their blood] of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
The words of the following verse fully express the co-equal union of the Father and Son in the Godhead of Almighty God:
But I saw no temple in it [the new city of Jerusalem from heaven, v. 10], for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.
The Book of Revelation reveals that the Lord Jesus is our Creator:
“You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created.”
Only the Lord Jesus is worthy to open the seals that give warnings of coming judgment:
“You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; for You were slain, and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation.”
Only the Lord Jesus can save us from His wrath, and He will judge and win the final battle. John writes in past tense since he is writing of what he had seen in the vision:
11Now I [John] saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He [Jesus] sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. …
19And I saw the beast [Antichrist], the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army. 20Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast [on their right hand or forehead] and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds [condors, vultures] were filled with their flesh.
7Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison 8and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Māgog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. 9They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city [Jerusalem]. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them. 10The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
11Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12And I saw the dead [unbelievers of all Ages], small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life [No one who the Savior judges here is registered in the Book of Life.]. And the dead were judged according to their works [for degree of punishment], by the things which were written in the books. 13The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hādēs delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14Then Death and Hādēs were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death [the lake of fire]. 15And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
22“For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son.” …
24“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. 25Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live. 26For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself, 27and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man. 28Do not marvel at this; for the houjr is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice 29and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation. 30I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.”
