Some Die Once – Many Die Twice [Part 17]
In Part 17 of our series of Blog Posts from our upcoming book titled “One Way or Another Your Eternal Destination is Guaranteed” we are going to look at: “Jesus Christ Almighty God – The Almighty God Lord Jesus is Coming Quickly—Suddenly and Do not be Ashamed of Jesus at the Moment He Comes”
Jesus Christ Almighty God
Note the seven times in each of the following verses that He who is coming is called the Almighty:
Revelation 1:7-8
Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen. “I am the Alpha and Omega [first and last letters of Greek alphabet], the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
Revelation 4:8b
Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!
Revelation 11:17
[The twenty-four elders] saying, We give You thanks, O Lord God Almighty, the One who is and who was and is to come, because You have taken Your great power and reigned.
Revelation 15:3
[Those who will be victorious over the Antichrist:] They sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, “Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Your ways, O King of the saints!”
Revelation 16:7
And I heard another from the altar saying, “Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments.
Revelation 16:1
For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle [War of Armageddon] of that great day of God Almighty.
Revelation 19:15
Now out of his mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
The Almighty God Lord Jesus is Coming Quickly—Suddenly
The following verses could apply to the Second Coming at the end of the Tribulation period, but they certainly do cause one to consider the Rapture prior to the Tribulation period with God’s furious wrath as well. Jesus is quoted:
Matthew 24:43; Luke 12:39
“But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into.”
Revelation 16:15
“Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.”
Revelation 22:7
“Behold, I am coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”
Revelation 22:12
“And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.”
Revelation 22:20
He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come Lord Jesus!
Peter prophesies what will happen well after the Seven-year Tribulation and at the end of the kingdom age event—after the Lord’s Millennial reign:
2 Peter 3:10
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
Do not be Ashamed of Jesus at the Moment He Comes
Luke 9:26
“For whoever is ashamed of Me and of My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and of the holy angels.”
Paul wrote:
Philippians 3:14
I press toward [I look ahead to] the goal for the prize of the upward call [could be the trumpet of the Rapture call] of God in Christ Jesus.
Summary
Quoting an old military term,
“We can better understand where we are headed if we look back at where we’ve been.”
We should stay in God’s Word daily, keeping our focus on Jesus. God tells us where we’ve been and where we are going. We need to maintain focus on the Lord Jesus, and remember to learn from the errors of God’s chosen people.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus; Look full in His wonderful face;
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace
