“I counsel you to buy from Me gold
refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be
clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your
eyes with eye salve, that you may see.” (NKJV)
Last week we unpacked the meaning of
“gold” – “refined in the fire” – “buy from Me
gold” and why we should do that. This week we will look at the meaning of
“white garments” and “eye salve”.

In our weekly Bible Study we finished chapter 3 this past
week. Now we have looked at all the Seven Churches! However, today, I would
like to share some Bible Study Notes on Chapter 3 Verses 7-13 covering the
church of Philadelphia.
According to Warren Henderson, in his book: INFIDELITY and
LOYALTY – A Devotional Study of Ezekiel and Daniel, the last 6 chapters of
Daniel “pertain to future world empires, the Tribulation Period and the Kingdom
Age and provide telescoping detail of particular events within future kingdoms“.
(pg. 306 para. 4)
Warren Henderson, the author of
“THE HOPE OF GLORY” was an aerospace engineer who has been serving
the Lord in “full time” ministry for many years now. He is an
itinerant Bible teacher and has written over 30 books. He is currently writing
a “Devotional Study” series on the books of the Old Testament. Study
Books on 31 books of the Bible have already been published. Warren’s goal is to
complete the series this year.

Even though we have self-published before we learned something new during our recent self-publishing adventure. Authors who publish a book with a different or special layout other than a normal book should keep an eye on this!
The inspiration for this book came from three important sources.
First, the Book, The Revelation of Jesus Christ, tells us in chapter 1, verse 3: “Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near. “
A contract had been signed with the
publisher. The next step was to prepare
the Manuscript according to the publisher’s specifications. It had to be
portrait page layout and maximum 2 columns per page. This made sense as each page of the final
book would have 2 columns on opposite pages making 4 columns side by side in
