Warren Henderson, the author of “THE HOPE OF GLORY” was an aerospace engineer who has been serving the Lord in “full time” ministry for many years now. He is an itinerant Bible teacher and has written over 30 books. He is currently writing a “Devotional Study” series on the books of the Old Testament. Study Books on 31 books of the Bible have already been published. Warren’s goal is to complete the series this year.

LESSON LEARNED FROM SELF-PUBLISHING – USING A SPECIAL LAYOUT IN THE BOOK!

My Opa (Grandpa) always said:  “You learn something new every day!”

He was so right!


Even though we have self-published before we learned something new during our recent self-publishing adventure.  Authors who publish a book with a different or special layout other than a normal book should keep an eye on this!

The inspiration for this book came from three important sources.

First, the Book, The Revelation of Jesus Christ, tells us in chapter 1, verse 3: “Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.

Getting the Manuscript Publisher Ready!

A contract had been signed with the publisher.  The next step was to prepare the Manuscript according to the publisher’s specifications. It had to be portrait page layout and maximum 2 columns per page.  This made sense as each page of the final book would have 2 columns on opposite pages making 4 columns side by side in plain view!

Photocopying? Printing? Binding it into a book? What would it be?

The manuscript was finished, and now what to do with it?

We started calculating different options like:

Printing the Study Guide here at home on our printer, or
Photocopying it at the local paper place, or
Printing it at the nearest printer!

Now how do we explain to a Canadian Immigration Officer that we met in Seventh Heaven?

Once we decided to live here in Canada, Mike needed to apply for permanent residency.

One of the questions on the application forms was to confirm where
we met. Usually that is easy to answer. Like … we met at this and this restaurant or concert or at friends…

Well, Mike and I met in Seventh Heaven which we filled into the form!
Now, … would that satisfy the immigration officer? Probably NOT!
