Some Die Once – Many Die Twice [Part 27]

In Part 27 of our series of Blog Posts from our upcoming book titled “One Way or Another Your Eternal Destination is Guaranteed” the question today looks at: The Third Part of the First Resurrection”

During the seven-year Tribulation a few more will hear the Kingdom gospel message for their first time and be saved, but they will have an extremely difficult ordeal of misery and distress during the seven-year Tribulation period (Revelation chapters 6-19).

Additionally, God’s chosen Orthodox Jewish people of Israel will finally realize that Jesus is the Lord along with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Then these Tribulation Gentiles who will come to believe the truth and all of Israel will be in the third part of the First Resurrection. John prophesied:

Then one of the elders [of the twenty-four who’d been raptured] answered, saying to me, “Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?” And I said to him, “Sir, you know.” So he said to me, These are the ones who come out of great tribulation, and washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb [blood of Jesus]. Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple. And he who sits on the throne will dwell among them. Revelation 7:13-15

Salvation

Paul writing to the Jewish people in Rome wrote in Romans chapter 9 of their past failures; in Romans chapter 10 of their lives during the Church Age; and Romans chapter 11, the Jewish in the near future:

For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion; that blindness [hardening in their hearts by God for their past unbelief in Jesus Christ] in part [some Jews have come to believe in Jesus being their Messiah, Savior] has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in [the time when the last Gentile will have been saved and the Rapture has removed the Church believers from the earth]. And so [then] all Israel will be saved… Romans 11:25-26a

Jeremiah also prophesied:

Alas! For that day is great, so that none is like it; and it is the time of Jacob’s [Israel’s] trouble, but he [Israel] shall be saved out of it. Jeremiah 30:7

Terror / Tribulation Period

Regarding the Tribulation Period, the Lord Jesus said:

But he who endures to the end shall be saved.” Matthew 24:13

Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.” Revelation 2:10b

Jesus is also quoted in Mark prophesying a hardship for the Tribulation saints:

And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake: but he who endures to the end shall be saved. Mark 13:13

Between Tribulation and Millennial

John prophesied concerning the time just after the Tribulation and just before the Millennial (thousand years) reign:

And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast [the Antichrist] or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. Revelation 20:4

Anyone who has a part in the resurrection of life will be truly and eternally blessed.

Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years. Revelation 20:6

At the end of Christ’s Millennial reign, He will deliver Satan to the Lake of Fire (Rev. 20:10) to join the Antichrist and false prophet (Rev. 19:20) along with every soul who has chosen to not believe the truth.

It may be possible that some will come to believe and maybe even be resurrected during the thousand-year reign. But unbelievers of that age will surely face judgment at the Great White Throne. They will soon begin their eternal suffering. Quoting H. A. Ironside:

“Will any people be saved who stand before the Great White Throne? Not one, if we read the account aright because death and hades are to be ‘[emptied] into the lake of fire.’ All of the lost, whose spirits and bodies they have held in durance so long, will be emptied out into the pit of woe. And God’s Word says, ‘This is the second death.’

The lake of fire is the symbol of sorrow immeasurable and of torment eternal. It is a divine picture intended to make the soul of the sinner shrink with dread as he contemplates the end of those who obey not the gospel.”
