How is Receiving Eternal Life as easy as A-B-C-D?
Can You have Eternal Life Without Jesus or by Doing Good Works?
What Does it Take to Receive Eternal Life?
Believing in God, going to church, and being a good person won’t save you on Judgment Day.
However, going to Heaven or better yet receiving Eternal Life can be as easy as A-B-C-D.
Don’t believe it? Check this out!
Step A
Your first step to receiving Eternal Life is to:
Admit that you are a sinner and there is nothing you can do to work your way into Heaven!
Now, most people will reject the notion that they are a sinner because in today’s world almost anything goes, meaning a “sin” is not really a “sin” anymore. The meaning of “sin” has been turned upside down. Right is wrong and wrong is right nowadays!
Define Sinner
Let’s look what God says about sin / sinner in His Word the Bible:
Romans 3:10 As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one;
Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Maybe we need to define the word sinner further to make it clear.
What is a sinner?
A sinner is someone who has broken one or more of God’s commandments, like e.g.:
- told a lie which makes you a liar;
- taken something, even of little or no value, that’s not yours which makes you a thief;
- committed adultery – Jesus says that even just looking at a woman with lust is an act of adultery at heart.
Matthew 5:28 “But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” - and the list goes on, …
Step B
Now, we are already at the second step:
Believe that Jesus Christ , God’s Son, came to earth, died on the cross to pay for your sin debt, and rose again from the dead the third day.
Why would God the Father sacrifice His only Son? And why would Jesus go through with it?
He, God the Father, and God the Son did it out of love for you, for all of us even though you-I-we don’t deserve it!
The Scriptures confirm God’s love for us in:
Romans 5:8
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 14:6; Acts 4:12.
God’s Love
With God’s love in mind, if you believe that Jesus Christ, God’s Son, came to earth, died on the cross to pay for your sin debt, and rose again from the dead the third day you will be saved. Proof of that is in:
Romans 10:9-11
that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”
Step C
So, what is step three then?
Call upon Jesus, meaning to pray to the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, and with a sincere heart ask Him to forgive you of your sins (repent), save you from hell, and come into your heart and life!
You may say that you have committed terrible sins, things that cannot be forgiven. There is only one thing that cannot be forgiven which is rejecting the Lord Jesus Christ. But, when you confess with a sincere heart and ask for forgiveness God will forgive you.
Forgiveness
Many will question: “Where does it say that and how can we be sure of it?”
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Romans 10:13
For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
When God says so then it’s true, God does not lie! He loves you and wants you and all of us to have eternal life but it’s a choice every single person has to make for themselves, which leads us to our final step.
Step D
Dedicate your life to Him. Ask God to show you His plan for your life, and guide you to true believers and a God honouring church for fellowship and growth.
Now you know that it’s as easy as A-B-C-D to receive Eternal Life!
