The Divided States of America and How to Fix It

“Considering Wisdom” New Book published by Christian Author Michael Copple

The first step in problem solving is to identify the problem. The problem with the United States is that it has become extremely divided—no longer united.

The next step is to investigate the starting place of the problem: The source of this gigantic problem is the huge contrast in guiding principles of the two primary political parties. In virtually all policies, the Democrat Party leans heavily upon man’s ideals, and the Republican Party upon the Creator’s prescriptions.

The differences are glaringly apparent in the following main issues: Climate Change; Education versus Indoctrination; Abortion; Transgender Sex; Gay Marriage; LGBTQ+; and Press biases.

Considering Wisdom exposes each of these topics which have resulted in the division. This leads one to ask the question: “Is it right in the sight of God to listen to man more than to God?” (Acts 4:19 NKJV) The reader is free to consider and decide.

This book obviously relates to the evangelistic community but includes others who may be inquisitive about whom God is. When united we are all of one accord—meaning we are all reaching decisions in accordance with the same source for guidance. When seeking to know the source and then considering the source, it would be well to reflect upon:

The knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. (Colossians 2:2b-3 NKJV)

In Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God. (1 Corinthians 1:30b NKJV)

Michael Copple is a 1958 Eagle Scout, retired Chief Master Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force, Vietnam veteran, USAF Academy Wings of Blue Parachute Team leader for three years, and logged over 2,000 jumps with fifteen free fall hours. He experienced four main parachute malfunctions requiring use of the reserve chute, qualifying him to author the novel Calling from the Sky. He holds a BS degree in electrical engineering. Michael now devotes his time to authoring Christian literature and bringing forth God’s Word.

Calling from the Sky was the first book Michael Copple self-published, followed by a Study Guide “Digging Deep into The Revelation of Jesus Christ” with accompanying Exam Booklet. Considering Wisdom is his third book published with WestBow Press.

His books are available at Amazon, Barnes&Noble, Christianbook.com and WestBow Press.

Michael, a US veteran and patriot who loves God, family and his country, lives currently in the Canadian Rockies with his wife Elfriede. They both enjoy reading the Bible, exercising, eating healthy foods, gardening, keeping up with current events, and jogging or hiking with their dog “Kansas”.

Wisdom in Voting

Excerpt from Chapter 7 of Considering Wisdom

Posted by Elfriede

With voting around the corner, I thought that I would post another excerpt from Mike’s book “Considering Wisdom” with regard to the chapter on “Wisdom in Voting”. So here it is:

Considering Wisdom, pg 108, para. 4:

The USSR spent fifty years in the Cold War, attempting to globalize their system of communism, or socialism. The globe, if socialistic communism was colored red on a map, was progressing toward being all red. As a result, many people died, and thousands were Americans who fought to maintain our freedom of free enterprise, speech, press, religion, and the right to protect ourselves. One political candidate who promotes socialism has been called by the founder of Home Depot, “the enemy of all entrepreneurs” (https://www.foxbusines.com/business-leaders/home-depot-cofounder-bernie-sanders-is-the-enemy-of-every-entrepreneur). We have been witnessing an attempt to have history repeat itself. We learn from history that we do not learn from history.

Wisdom Found by Listening

Another excerpt from our newly published book “Considering Wisdom

Chapter 6 (pgs 77-79)

A key factor when we consider wisdom is the trait of listening. The words listen, listened, and listens are seen in the Bible over 350 times. To listen does not mean to give ear only to the sound being emitted.

“Listen: 1) to give ear; to attend closely with a view to hear. 2) To obey; to yield to advice; to follow admonition.”[1]

Following is just a small sample of how listening has to do with wisdom:

Listen to counsel and receive instruction, that you may be wise in your latter days. (Proverbs 19:20)

Cease listening to instruction, my son, and you will stray from the words of knowledge. (Proverbs 19:27)

Listen to your father who begot you, and do not despise your mother when she is old. Buy the truth, and do not sell it, also wisdom and instruction and understanding. (Proverbs 23:22–23)

A wise man listens to advice. (Proverbs 12:15b NIV)

MIND FRAMES

Where life’s battle is won or lost

A Book by Warren Henderson

Posted by Elfriede

This week, I started reading a book by Warren Henderson titled “Mind Frames” and even though I am only in the Introduction it has already been a great blessing to me.

The description on the back of the book reads like this:

“In MIND FRAMES the author shares six scriptural exercises to strengthen the mind’s ability to focus Godward and then presents a dozen Christlike attitudes—mind frames—to guard our thoughts in challenging circumstances. These mind frames are used by the Spirit to bring our thoughts into alignment with the ways of God.”

Considering Wisdom

Chapter 2 titled “Common Sense of Wisdom”

We are quoting from pages 18-21 to give you some more insight into this book.

For nearly sixteen hundred years, over forty writers were inspired by the Holy Spirit to write what became the Bible, yet the entirety of the sixty-six Books are miraculously in perfect agreement. There are no contradictions. The reason:

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God. (2 Timothy 3:16a)

For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His Majesty. (2 Peter 1:16)

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. (2 Peter 1:20–21)

Scripture compared to Scripture reinforces its immutability and endurance, and confirms its flawlessness, perfection, continuity, and truth.

Gold or Wisdom—What will it Be?

Posted by Elfriede

We are so excited that our latest book “Considering Wisdom” has gone to the printer and will be available very soon.

To spark your interest here is an excerpt from the first chapter:

Chapter 1Wisdom versus Knowledge

In terms of times and ages, the longest word in our language is the word eternity. Astoundingly, when we consider how the longest, endless running major rivers on six of Earth’s seven continents contribute greatly to wisdom, it can lead to other far-reaching magnificent truths. Considering wisdom’s eternal consequences, a list of only a few of the world’s famous rivers will serve well to reveal how wisdom and nature are supernaturally linked:

CONSIDERING WISDOM

Posted by Elfriede

Another day closer to meeting our Lord!

And another day closer to our book promotion, speaking and signing tour through 10 US States in April/May 2020. We are in the planning phase which is quite exciting.

You can find updates, event locations, dates and times on Facebook and Twitter .

We submitted the manuscript for “Considering Wisdom” to our publisher WestBow Press hoping that the book will be ready to take on our book tour together with “Calling from the Sky” and “Digging Deep into the Revelation of Jesus Christ”.

Calling from the Sky” is a Biographical Fiction which is inspired by true events in the author’s life who served 26 plus years in the US Air Force. He served nine years with the Wings of Blue Parachute Team and as the Superintendent of Parachuting Operations at the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

When asked why he wrote “Calling from the Sky” Mike says: “CALLING FROM THE SKY was prompted by the deep gratitude I have for life. I experienced many “close calls” mostly during seventeen years and over 2000 parachute jumps, and one day my oldest son, Don, said to me, “Dad, you should write those stories down so they don’t get lost.” This began an autobiography which evolved into a more exciting thriller (since I didn’t think anyone would want to read about me, Mike Copple). So the truth became faction (fact/fiction). Part of the fiction are the Russian spies who try to take revenge and kill “Luke” by sabotaging his parachute.”

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone from Mike and Elfriede! Wishing 2020 to be full of blessings from the Lord for you. May He open doors, and prepare opportunities for us to share His word and the Gospel message.

The title of today’s blog post is CONSIDERING WISDOM which is also the title of our new book to be published early this year. We are in the final stages of preparing the manuscript and cover design for the publisher. We thought that we would share an excerpt with you today.

Chapter 3

Consider the Source

A statement that’s often heard after an eyebrow-raising report has been announced: “Consider the source.” Mankind’s methods of attempting to influence an opinion upon others often leads to a bogus means of deception. The result can leave doubt upon the listener and devalue the speaker’s integrity. Truth must be upheld to preserve integrity.
