The inspiration for this book came from three important sources.

First, the Book, The Revelation of Jesus Christ, tells us in chapter 1, verse 3: “Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.

This was and still is the first motivation—for others to be blessed by learning both of God’s truths and of His warnings. His warning, “for the time is near,” is the second impetus.

With the violence and divisions in today’s society this study guide is remarkably relevant. People are asking, “What’s happening?”

The subjects of Global Warming, Climate Change, increased numbers of earthquakes, hurricanes, volcanoes, tsunamis, mass school shootings, are called the birth pains of the great tribulation. The leanings toward “one world government” which will result in people following the antichrist instead of the Lord Jesus Christ are also prophesied. With all the madness going on in this world around us today, the time for Christ’s return is surely imminent.

The third incentive (the one that reminded me, “the best way to get something done is to begin,”) came from our local assembly’s participants in a weekly Bible study who requested a meaningful, thorough, quality study in the Book of Revelation.

Due to the state of affairs surrounding every human being in this otherwise unpredictable world, this explanation of the prophecy in Revelation should arouse much interest. With clarity readers and hearers will see the tremendous eternal value of believing in Jesus Christ truly being their Savior (so that they will not reject Him). This belief is what saves them from being left behind to suffer the great seven-year tribulation and possibly worse…if even imaginable—eternal consciousness in the lake of fire.
